It’s National Pollinator Week and bees take center stage.
If you like bees, Powell Gardens is the place for you on June 22. The agenda includes:
Making native plant seed “bombs” to take home and start your own pollinator gardens.
Creating pollinator origami art.
A garden-wide search for active pollinators.
Planting an eco-pot with a butterfly host plant.
Teaching families about beekeeping, courtesy of the Heartland Beekeeping Association.
And, for an additional fee, kids can paint and take home their own flower pots and learn how to make tasty treats with a local chef.
